MIGUEL ANAYA

Originally from from Havana, Cuba, Miguel Anaya trained at the Alfonso Perez Isaac School and the Cuban National Ballet School, where he graduated in 2012. He has trained with Ramona de Saa, Marta Iris, Nor Maria, Ana Julia Bermudez, Magaly Suarez, Alicia Alonso, Fernando Alonso and Alberto Mendez. He danced with the Washington Ballet Company during the 2014-15 season, performing various Septime Webre ballets including Sleepy Hollow and Alice in Wonderland. Mr. Anaya also danced the role of Siegfried in Kirk Peterson’s Swan Lake while with the Washington Ballet. Mr. Anaya was invited to the Varna International Ballet Competition in 2010 and the Youth America Grand Prix in 2011. In 2012, he won the Grand Prix National Competition in Cuba, and performed as a soloist dancer with Ballet Nacional de Cuba with Alicia Alonso. While dancing with the Ballet Nacional de Cuba, he performed as Basilio in Don Quixote. Miguel is currently a company member at BalletMet

Leah graduated from the University of Akron in 2015 with a Bachelors in Dance with Business. She moved to the Columbus area in 2017 and joined Cultivate Dance Project in 2018 as a founding member. In her free time, Leah enjoys hiking, reading, and writing poems. Her favorite style of dance is Contemporary.

Kara Braunreiter began dancing at the age of 4 and hasn't stopped dancing! She danced competitively with Eau Claire School of Dance in Eau Claire, WI and with her high school dance teams in both Schaumburg, Il and Eau Claire, WI. She began dancing at Artisan in 2013 when she moved to Columbus to pursue her PhD in Molecular Genetics. Since then, she has been a part of numerous Artisan Ballet Company productions including The Wizard of Oz and Mary Poppins, but her favorite role so far has been Cinderella in Cinderella! Kara began teaching with Artisan in 2015, and she enjoys sharing her love for dances with students of all ages. In her free time, you can find Kara reading books and playing with her dog, Cindy Lou.

Jessica Kehn spent most of her formative years as a competitive dancer, competing both regionally in Central Ohio and nationally along the East coast. She later attended The Ohio State University where she studied English and Dance. In 2012, Jessica founded Artisan Dance Studio with the belief that dance is for everybody. In 2014 she was named the Clintonville Chamber of Commerce's "Business Person of the Year" award. In addition to the studio Jessica volunteers at the Ohio Reformatory for Women where she teaches a weekly tap class for incarcerated women.

Alexandria Logsdon graduated from The University of Akron with a Bachelors of Arts in Dance with a business cognate along with a Psychology minor. From Marysville, Ohio, she began her dance training at Tony Calucci's Dance Extension. She then attended The University of Akron to further her education with the hopes of impacting the arts one day. She has choreographed for the Choreographer's Showcase, Spring into Dance, and has taught many masterclasses. Alexandria has traveled to the American College Dance Association and was also a part of The University of Akron's Dance Company. She performed in the new musical Front Page Flo, danced two seasons with Seven Dance Company, and is currently in her second season with Cultivate Dance Project. Alexandria is aspiring to follow her dreams and is excited be part of the Artisan Dance family!

Alvin Tovstogray is an artist with BalletMet and is a former Principal Dancer with Oklahoma City Ballet. Born in Dnipro, Ukraine, he received his training at the Dnipro State Choreographic School under Viacheslav Volkov. From 2008 to 2010 Mr. Tovstogray continued his training at The San Francisco Ballet School and later joined The Washington Ballet Studio Company. In 2012 Mr. Tovstogray joined Oklahoma City Ballet as a company dancer, was named Soloist in 2014 and promoted to Principal in 2015. He received multiple awards at International Ballet Competitions including Bronze at WBC Orlando, Silver at Istanbul IBC and Gold at Tanzolymp Berlin. His repertoire includes works by George Balanchine, August Bournonville, Anthony Tudor, Jiří Kylián , Nacho Duato, Twyla Tharp, Stanton Welch, Michael Pink, Septime Webre, Robert Mills, Helen Pickett, Ma Cong, , Margo Sappington, Matthew Neenan, Amy Seiwert, Brian Enos, Yui Sato, Jacob Sparso and others. Kelly started dancing at the young age of 3 and was traveling across the country competitively dancing by the age of 9. Her senior year, her team held the title of National Champions for their Jazz routine at Dance Xplosion competition. In college, Kelly went on to teach dance for four years at Dance Evolution in Stow, Ohio. She taught all age ranges from minis to adults, as well as the competition team. Kelly majored in Fashion Merchandising at Kent State University and moved down to Columbus right after college. Now she is ecstatic to be able to show her passion and love for dance by teaching hip hop classes at the studio. Kelly also has pursued her other passion of fashion and works full time at Lane Bryant’s corporate office as the dress buyer! She resides in the historic neighborhood of German village and loves to cook, go to concerts, and cuddle with her cat Khloe in her spare time.

Carly Wheaton is from the Bay Area, California where she trained with Stapleton Ballet School, Marin Ballet and San Francisco Ballet School. Upon graduating, Carly spent a season dancing with Ballet Memphis as a trainee. She proceeded to join The Washington Balletʼs Studio Company and was promoted to the full company in 2014. Carly has had the pleasure of dancing with Ballet Met since 2015. She has enjoyed performing various roles such as Giselle in Edwaard Liangʼs production of Giselle, as Wendy in Michael Pinkʼs Peter Pan, as Cinderella in Edwaard Liangʼs Cinderella, and in Jiri Kylianʼs Petite Mort. Carly often spends her summers dancing for Juli, Adam Dance in Marin County, California. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, hiking, and teaching ballet!
