CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
BALLET
Absolute Beginner:
It's never too late for adults to learn ballet. Designed for those who have never had a ballet class, this drop in friendly class teaches ballet from the very beginning. During class we focus on the fundamental positions, vocabulary, and basic principles of ballet.
Beginner:
This beginner level is for adults who have a basic understanding of the foundations of ballet. These concepts are incorporated into a full ballet class with exercises at the barre, in the center and moving across the floor. The core emphasis of this level will be on understanding and improving proper alignment, posture, rotation, and flexibility. Dancers will also expand their ballet vocabulary while learning new movements and positions.
Advanced Beginner/Intermediate:
This next level will expand upon the foundations of Beginner Ballet. The class will focus on continuing to fine-tune the basic positions, posture and alignment, while introducing more advanced steps both at the barre and in the center. Exercises will focus on increasing speed and complexity, coordination of arm and leg movements, and increased strength in the lower body.
Intermediate & Intermediate/Advanced:
This is the perfect level for dancers who are serious about their training and have many years of experience in ballet. This class will move at a much quicker pace, offering complex combinations both at the barre and in the center. Dancers will be exposed to more advanced and diverse exercises, challenging them to elevate their level of training while still maintaining a strong focus on their core ballet technique. At this level dancers should begin to explore and develop their artistry, musicality and epaulement.
POINTE
All Pointe classes are designed for students with previous ballet training. Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work and across the floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles. All students en pointe must have instructor permission to participate in pointe shoes.

TAP

Advanced Beginner/Intermediate:
This class will pick up the pace from Beginner Tap, adding more choreography and more advanced steps.
Intermediate:
In the intermediate level, students develop a keen sense of rhythm and balance. This intermediate level class is appropriate for the adult who has had some experience with tap dance and is looking to continue training.
