SHOWCASE 2020 INFORMATION

After last year’s success of our 1st ever Artisan Showcase, we’ve decided to do it again.  And listen, we’re SO excited for year 2!

The coming months will be full of rehearsals, choreography and lots of fun. Thank you for choosing Artisan as your dance home, and joining us for another great performance.

So let’s go over the details…

CLASS REQUIREMENTS

As you know, in order to participate you must also be involved in taking regular classes at the studio.  We aren’t keeping track but hope you will be an honest participant.  If you’re participating in a ballet piece, please attend a weekly ballet class or if you’re in a jazz piece please attend a weekly jazz class (and so on, and so forth).  Rehearsals don’t replace regular classes, and if we can’t support our regular class offerings we cannot continue to provide performance opportunities for adults.

REHEARSALS

Initial rehearsals will be 45-60m in length.  After choreography has been set, your choreographer will decide how often/how long to meet to clean the dance.  These cleaning rehearsals will meet at the same time as the initial rehearsals were scheduled.

Please be advised that if you miss a rehearsal you are responsible for learning the choreography on your own.  Instructors will not be available for private lessons to catch you up on the choreography you missed.  We will post videos and they will be available to you in the Google Drive. 

… but let’s make this easy – just show up to your rehearsal, okay?

REHEARSAL FEES:

Each piece has a $35 participation fee.  With exception to the Ray Hesselink Piece.  This will be a separate fee since he is a famous Broadway choreographer, and this is an incredible opportunity!

Fees should be paid by cash or check in the office. 

We cannot accept CC payments for the rehearsal fees.

Rehearsal fees are due on or before your first rehearsal.  Payment plans are available by emailing jessica@artisandancestudio.com.

ALL REHEARSAL FEES MUST BE PAID IN FULL IN ORDER TO PERFORM.

SIGN UPS

Signs ups are available through our Doodle Poll.  All studio sponsored choreography is posted on the Doodle Poll – these spots are limited.  Signs ups will close on Friday Dec. 20th at 5:00pm.  Find the link here:

STUDENT CHOREOGRAPHED PIECES

If you are interested in doing a student choreographed piece, a proposal must be submitted to jessica@artisandancestudio.com with the following information:

1.       Style

2.       Song ChoicE

3.       LengtH

4.       Dancers

Serious inquiries only please!  All student choreography must be approved, and you must provide a video of all or part of the piece by April 15th. 

WITHDRAWALS

We understand that life happens.  Consider what you have coming up in the next 6 months before you sign up for multiple pieces.  It is very challenging for choreographers when people drop out of pieces, or don’t show up for rehearsals.  Help us out, honor your commitments.
